South Moravia PálavaKyjovVlkošBrno385 kmCT KyPragueMoravian Wine TrailsTravel the region of sights and wine, through the scenic countryside among vineyards from Znojmo to Uherské Hradiště. 1,200 km of trails form ten routes connected with the main Moravian Wine Trail. Discover diverse towns and historical and natural monuments. This is one of the trails. The wine trails will not only let you discover South Moravia, but also the wine and people, for whom growing vines is a mission and a lifelong hobby. Kyjovsko has some surprises in store for wine lovers: the region is not velvety smooth like the south, but it shows that there is beauty and truth in harshness. The steeper south slopes provide enough sunlight for winegrowers to harvest early white cultivars with sugar contents between 17 and 23. Surprisingly, red vines growing there also ripen with a pleasant strength that only subsides after years of maturing in barrels. In addition, there are many trips in South Moravia organised for visitors throughout the year, as well as food and wine festivals.Total length: 85 kmVlkoš – KyjovKyjov Wine Trail CT Ky Biking through the region of folk customs, costumes, songs, festivals, vineyards and wine. The forests and hills in the north for people from the south; the gentle and fertile upland in the south for people from the north. There are forests in the north which transform into typical winegrowing areas in the south. Winters are harsher but summer days with blue sky and white clouds let people forget about snow and bring enough warmth to harvest. The local terrain is a good test of fitness for cyclists. Those who love short and steep climbs and rapid as well as slow downhill cycling on forest and vineyard roads will love every kilometre of the Kyjov Trail. If you are not a big fan of that, do not give up – there are beautiful views of the roofs from the rounded peaks of the highlands and the church steeples bring peace to the hearts and minds of people. Those seeking peace and quiet will also find something for themselves after a bit of effort. There are no highways or railways nearby and the closet larger airport is a hundred kilometres away, in Vienna. It is still a forgotten corner, aside from the busy cities and tourist destinations.
